Pan Exec’s 2024 In’s and Out’s
This is the beginning of a new year. There will be new trends, new styles, and new ideas. This is ours for the year: giving all of the members of our of community a landing page that they can go to to get advice, learn something new, or to just get a laugh. This is the University of Tennessee’s Panhellenic Council’s blog! Welcome! Get comfortable, the fun has only just begun.
As the newest members on the Panhellenic Executive Board, we have decided to follow up on a recent trend that has been going around Tik Tok: 2024 ins and outs. And we are going to give it our best shot!
This year our goals for ourselves range from your classic eating healthier to more serious topics such as mental health. Let us tell you all about it! Happy 2024!
Sydney Hebert- Vice President of Internal Affairs
In- Reading!
“My in for 2024 is reading as the last thing I do before bed to limit my screen time!”
Out- Seeing midnight!
“My out for 2024 is seeing midnight on my clock. This will make me prioritize my sleep and go to bed early!”
Brooke Bledsoe- Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing
In- Having productive mornings!
“This year my classes are later in the day, so I usually don’t start working on my to do list until then, but I am trying to prioritize waking up early and getting a productive start to my day!”
Out- Obsessing over the little things!
“This year I want to prioritize the wins in life and not worry so much about the things I cannot control!”
Caroline Hayes- Vice President of Recruitment
In- Spending intentional time with friends!
“This year I want to put my energy towards living in the moment and making memories with people that I love!”
Out- High screen time!
“This year I want to try to limit my screen time!”
Brenna Burns- Vice President of Scholarship
In- More adventures!
“My number one value at my core is adventure, so why not make it my in for 2024. I did some big things last year (insert skydiving and nearly drowning while white water kayaking) but we’re amping it up this year!”
Out- Working myself to death over school!
“While school is at the top of my priority list, I’ve learned it’s not worth losing my mind over or skipping out on fun plans because ‘I have too much to do.’ This year I’m living, not just existing in Hodges Library until 4 am!”
Olivia Clark- Vice President of Recruitment Counselors
In- Putting my phone down!
“I am prioritizing putting my phone away at night so I can decompress and get good sleep!”
Out- Eating out!
“I am really trying to cook at home and eat healthier and not eat out so often!”
Lucy Dodson- Vice President of membership
In- Boosting my mental health!
“This year I am trying to do something every week to boost my mental health (cook, bake, get outside, get a coffee, etc.)!”
Out- Talking the talk (it’s time to walk the walk)!
“Saying I’m going to start eating healthy but doesn’t actually do it (out)! Actually researching and going to the grocery store and meal prepping (in/walking the walk).”
Caroline Ballard- Vice President of New Member Education
In- Overdressing!
“I want to wear my clothes for more than just a special occasion because they need just as much love as my athletic clothes haha!”
Out- Doom scrolling!
“This is overall bad for my mental health and takes hours out of my day!”
Lydia Rothrock- Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Service
In- Making Instagram casual!
“My 2024 in is making Instagram casual! I feel like I always hesitate to post on Instagram and want to focus on posting more often and not overthinking what I post!”
Out- Impulse buying!
“My 2024 out is impulse buying. I do this way too much and need to put a little more thought into spending money, instead of just buying any type of clothes I like!”
Addy Stepien- Vice President of Administration
In- Quality over quantity!
“My in for 2024 is quality over quantity. This is for every aspect of my life from the people I surround myself with to the clothes in my closet. I want to be involved with things that inspire and push me to be my best self!”
Out- Not dismissing my emotions!
“In 2024 I am valuing my emotions and dealing with them in a positive way! I am valuing the quality and meaning of my emotions. This is something I am super excited about bringing into the new year! It’s never too late to start over, happy 2024!”
