How to survive finals week
Finals is already upon us (how so soon?!) and it is time to start preparing ourselves, our minds, and our spaces for the next week. Some of us may have more exams than others, but it is important to take time to make sure we are fully prepared for the stress of the week to come.
So, how can we prepare ourselves for success during this time?
Well, the first objective is making sure our spaces are ready, that means it is time for some delayed spring cleaning.
Having a clean space helps us to focus more on the task at hand, which for many of us is studying our computer screen until we get a headache. So, pick up the clothes off the floor, get the dishes out of the sink, and light a candle, it’s crunch time.
The next objective is to prepare ourselves.
Nothing is worse than starting exam week off feeling sick, sad, and gross. But the good news is there are ways to fix these things. The weather is warming up so taking a walk is a great way to let off some steam and stretch our tired limbs. Taking a steaming hot shower using your favorite products is always a good way to feel better. And drinking some water is always an underestimated way to make yourself feeling so much better.
The last thing to do is to prepare your mind.
This week is going to be hard, stressful, and busy and the last thing we need is to burn out. To combat this, you can stagger your study sessions with specific times for breaks, snacks, walks, and more. It is also important to get as much sleep as possible during this time. Our brains take up so much of our energy during the day, give her a break and take a nap!
No matter what you do to prepare for the upcoming week just know that there are people and resources here to help you!
