Recruitment Outfit inspo
With recruitment coming up in less than a MONTH we are preparing to welcome all our of potential new members into the UT and Panhellenic community so soon!
Below you will find recommendations and outfit inspo for three rounds of recruitment and bid day. But remember, the most important thing is to dress how you feel most comfortable and confident!

Philanthropy & Service Round
This round is centered around conversations about chapters philanthropies and service opportunities and is held on three separate days. For this round, outfits are usually short dresses or nice trousers or pants. Think of something you would wear to a baby shower or brunch. Heels, sandals, or clean sneakers are suggested footwear.
Suggested places to shop can be Old Navy, Dillard’s, Revolve, Nordstrom, Altar'd State, TJ Maxx, and more!
Sisterhood Round
This round is centered around a chapters sisterhood, values, and more and is held on two separate days. For this round, attire usually consists of dresses of any length and style and heels or sandals. Think of a nice dinner when picking out outfits!
Suggested places to shop can be local boutiques, Dillard’s, Altar’d State, Revolve, Nordstrom, Marshall’s, and more!
Preference Round
This round is the most formal round of recruitment and is only one day. For this round attire usually consists of cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, or tea length dresses. These rounds are longer and PNMs will spend most of the day sitting; therefore, suggested shoes for this round are heels or sandals. When dressing for this round, think of what you would wear to a wedding!

Bid Day
Bid Day is a day full of excitement and action! Plan to wear sneakers, your PNM shirt, and comfortable bottoms (most people wear athletic shorts, skirts, or athletic dresses). Once you arrive at your chapter you will be given a shirt to change into!
Smokey’s Closet
Panhellenic Recruitment at the University of Tennessee is a values first process and individuals are not judged based on the clothing they wear or their appearance. Our chapters want to get to know YOU, so be yourself and you will find your home! Outfit guidelines are designed to help PNMs put their best foot forward. Clothing does not need to be expensive or over the top. There are so many places to shop that allow PNMs from every background to feel comfortable and confident in themselves throughout the recruitment process.
One option that allows PNMs access to free, gently used clothing perfect for recruitment is Smokey’s Closet here on campus. Here, you can get specialized help from employees to help you pick out the best fitting outfit for each round at no cost.
